The Mosque was built in Palo Alto and completed in early 2015. Details include marble exterior, gold leaf details, and a breathtaking front entry.
Etchings on the doors and laser cut facades over windows create visually stunning interior shadows that showcase some of the architectural elements from the inside.
The centerpiece of the mosque is the sunburst over the front doorway. It was created to mimic the design of a 1,000 year old Mosque in Egypt, but Lerch Construction took the design to the next level. The curves surrounding the circle in the center were all hand-carved then poured concrete with steel tie rods coming out the back to meet earthquake safety requirements. At night, LED's emanating from the center create beautiful patterns across the ridges and curves.
